Alex Eichenstein is a journalist based in New York.

Alex is a finance reporter at The Information, covering how tech’s growing capital needs are reshaping Wall Street, including the deals fueling that shift and the investors betting on it. Previously at The Deal, Alex reported on private equity and M&A in the healthcare and wellness industries. She reported on medspas’ growing focus on IV and hormone therapies, as well as scrutiny of private equity-backed autism therapy centers.

Alex graduated from Columbia Journalism School with her M.S. in journalism in May 2023. After graduate school, she joined Honolulu Civil Beat, where she explored water access issues on government land designated for low-income residents. She was also part of the newsroom’s response to the Maui wildfires. For the coverage, the staff was named a finalist for the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting.
